Man ‘go­ing through tur­moil’ at time of­fences com­mited

A 23-year-old from Bray was banned from driv­ing for three years and fined a to­tal of €650 at Bray District Court.

Do­minick Coster, 19 Kil­bride Grove, Bray, ap­peared be­fore the court fac­ing charges of driv­ing with­out a li­cence, fail­ure to pro­duce a li­cence, fail­ure to pro­duce an NCT cer­tifi­cate, no in­sur­ance, fail­ure to pro­duce in­sur­ance, non dis­play of a disc, us­ing a ve­hi­cle with­out an NCT and ex­ceed­ing the lo­cal speed limit.

The charges were all from May 4, 2017, on the R774 Far­rankelly Road, Del­gany.

De­fence so­lic­i­tor, Bren­dan Maloney, said at the time the of­fences were com­mit­ted his client ‘was go­ing through’ some per­sonal tur­moil.

He had fallen out with his fam­ily and was go­ing through hard times. He has since re-es­tab­lished con­tact with his fam­ily only this week and they are con­sid­er­ing let­ting him back into the house ‘on the con­di­tion that he be­haves him­self.’

Mr Coster was dis­qual­i­fied from driv­ing for three years and fined €250 for the no in­sur­ance charge.

He was fined a fur­ther €250 for hav­ing no li­cence and €150 for speed­ing. All the other charges were taken into con­sid­er­a­tion.
