Volunteer days at East Coast Reserve

IF you are Interested in protecting Ireland’s wildlife then why not take part in one of the volunteer workdays at the East Coast Nature Reserve in Newcastle?

You can help with basic maintenanc­e and upkeep include painting, path maintenanc­e, woodland management, scrub clearance, habitat creation, and fencing. All are welcome to attend.

The workdays take place each Thursday from 10.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.. Tea and biscuits will be provided.

The next BirdWatch Ireland Wicklow Branch outing is to Broad Lough along with the Carlow Branch to look for wintering waders, wildfowl and birds of prey, plus the possibilit­y of Kingfisher and Otter

The outing takes place on Sunday, November 26, at 10 a.m.. The meeting point is at the southern end of the lough by the Veolia water treatment plant on the Murrough Industrial Estate road, near Multimetal­s Recycling Ltd.
