ALAN MILEY

TYB had the opportunity to head off on a horse-riding experience with Hollywood Horse and Pony Trekking. The trek took in a great variety of landscapes including a trot in the river and a steep climb. Special thanks to Ray, Gary and Victoria, who facilitated our trip. Thanks to Ms Walsh and Ms Reid for organising the outing, and to Ms Dervin for accompanying the group.

SPANISH EXCHANGE TRIP

On October 18 Aranda de Duero, in the north of Spain welcomed 25 Spanish students from St Kevin’s Community College. St Kevin’s students spent a week with Spanish families learning about the culture and way of life in Spain.

This also gave students an excellent opportunity to practice their language skills.

The week included a hectic schedule where students visited: The Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, various villages in the province of Burgos, followed by a trip to the Roman Aqueduct and Alcázar castle in Segovia.

A memorable experience was had by teachers and students alike. We are all looking forward to the return visit in March.
