Performance by Garda Band
The Garda Band will perform a special concert at the Church of St Laurence O’Toole on Tuesday, November 28.
All the money raised on the night will go toward St Vincent de Paul.
A similar concert was organised for December of last year and proved a huge success and raised over €6,000.
Tickets cost €10 and are available from the post offices in Roundwood and Ashford, Kavanagh’s Butchers in Roundwood and the local Roundwood Community Hall.
The concert will start at 7.30 p.m. family event with a cash prize and perpetual silver cup kindly sponsored by the Sports Room in Wicklow Town for the fastest family across the line.
It is also a fast 5K with cash prize for the first five men and five women.
Prizes will be given for each category and a sports bag for the first 500 registered online. For the very young there is a one mile race at 11 a.m. Entry is €3 on the line.
So why not join everyone in Wicklow on St Stephen’s Day to run off that Turkey and support Inbhear Dee AC, which has been coaching athletics in Wicklow Town for over 35 years.

The Beginner’s hour from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. was a noisy affair with a lot of banter as the hands that were dealt at random posed some different and interesting bidding challenges.
As we head towards Advent and Christmas the preparations are already under way for this year’s Christ-kindle party night to be held on Wednesday before Christmas – that will be December 20. Note for your diary.
Royal Bridge Club
Last weekend members enjoyed the annual Bridge and social weekend in Wexford and all expressed their appreciation and thanks to Sheila O’Leary and Terry Hayes for organising an excellent weekend of Bridge and entertainment and also to Phyllis and Dolores for running the Bridge sessions and lessons. Well done to all.
On Monday night last week Kathleen Johnson and Heather Sheane were the North/South winners with Ann Looby and Ann Hollingsworth second. East/West section was won by Theresa Connolly and Ann McCoy holding off the challenge of Pauline Jameson and Marian McNulty.
The successful pairings on Wednesday night in the Red room were Eric and Dorothy Levingstone in North/ South and Joyce Hourigan and Marian McNulty in East/West. In the Blue room Terry Hayes and Sheila O’Leary were the successful North/South pairing with Ann McCoy and Breda Heraty second. East/West winners were Bernie Hamilton and Theresa Connolly closely followed by Stella Doyle and Geraldine Kelly.

The Mabel Rose Trophy was contested for on Tuesday night and as usual the cards were very volatile. The East/West pairing were waiting a good while before they could enter the bidding stakes. The game progressed with alacrity and was enjoyed by all.
The Mabel Rose Trophy was donated by club member, Linda Saunders, in memory of her Aunt Mabel. Linda presented the trophy to the winners Eleanor O’Falaherty and Phil Fox.
Second place went to John Hopkins and Larry Ryan and in third were Gaye McGettigan and Eric Levinston.
The club presented a cheque to Wicklow Mental Health for €1,265 which was the proceeds of their charity night held last Thursday.
