WICKLOW ROVERS

-

Our under 17 DDSL side completed their season with a good 6-3 away win over Ardmore Rovers, Stephen Finlay scored an excellent hat-trick with Luca Rampersaud, Ronan Murray and Stuart Cox all hitting singles in an excellent all round team performance.

It was a bad weekend for our two WDL under 17 sides, the A’s went down 3-1 away to Arklow United in the league. The lads battled through out but just need a bit of luck to start going their way. Nathan Sullivan scored his second of the season for the lads.

The B’s were always going to find it tough going against Gorey Rangers in the Leinster Youth Cup and it wasn’t helped by the fact they haven’t had a game in six weeks.

The lads lost 4-1 to a much sharper Gorey side and that comes from playing football. Nathan Wynne nabbed his fourth of the season from the penalty spot while Pat Sammon in the Rovers goal was outstanding.

Saturday’s junior action saw our 12B’s gain an excellent 5-3 quarter final cup win over Enniskerry, Luca Sturles nabbed a brace with Oscar Bruxton, Brendan Porter and a first ever goal from Charlie Kenny laying the foundations for this victory.

This was an excellent all round performance from the team with Luca Sturles been nominated as the Rovers man of the match.

Our under 12C’s record an excellent win in the quarter final of the cup when they beat St Patricks 4-3 after extra time in a seven goal thriller.

The lads raced into a 3-1 lead but the away side battled back to send the game into extra time.

It was a tense affair but it was Rovers who got the all important fourth goal when Cian Doyle popped up to score and send the lads into the semi final.

Cian Doyle and Shea Boltt scored two apiece in what was an excellent all round team performance.

The under 13B’s went down 5-1 away to local rivals Wicklow Town in the first leg of their cup
