SEAN O’BRIEN LINES OUT WITH CARNEW STUDENTS

- By FINTAN LAMBE

THE Tullow Tank Sean O’Brien didn’t have too far to travel when he paid a surprise visit to Coláiste Bhríde Carnew last Wednesday morning to help the transition year students launch their ‘CBC All Stars Bank’.

The visit of the Ireland and Leinster rugby legend to the school was kept firmly under wraps, and it generated great excitement among the first year students when they turned up to sign up for the student bank and recognised the celebrity in their midst.

‘It was a great opportunity for the bank to have such a high profile sports-person to unveil the bank this year,’ said deputy principal Anna Gahan. The members of the bank committee sent a sincere thank you to Sean for taking the time out of his busy schedule to visit Coláiste Bhríde.

As well as encouraging students to save, the CBC All Stars Bank recently held a Jersey Day to raise money for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. In addition, all students who open up accounts with Bank of Ireland are being entered into a draw to win a county jersey of their choice. Students who open accounts while they are in school can avail of free banking for up to 12 years. If the school opens 100 new accounts, it will receive 100 tickets for a rugby or soccer match of its choice.

Warm wishes were sent to Alanna Davidson, Aishling Winterbotham, Kate McConnell, Molly Rose McDermott, Marie Doyle, James Doyle and Killian Byrne with their bank this year.
