Arklow is full of festive cheer

-

CHRISTMAS is coming and Arklow is full of festive cheer. Santa has visited the town and had the honour of switching on the lights and there is plenty of seasonal deals to be picked up.

Once again, local traders are pulling out all the stops to ensure that the town centre is brimming with bargains and well stocked with a wide array of gifts and Christmas essentials.

The message is ‘shop local’ to support the local economy, local jobs and local businesses and the Arklow retailers are happy to offer a one to one personal service that isn’t always available in larger outlets.

Many stores are happy to take deposits and allow payments to be made in installments as Christmas approaches while others offer free gift-wrapping or multi-buy discounts.

Even the quickest stroll around town will reveal an array of beautifully decorated shop windows, both in modern and traditional styles.

Around every corner there are flickering fairy lights and the sound of Christmas music can be heard in many a shop doorway.

Those who opt to purchase their Christmas gifts and food supplies locally will be pleased to learn that for the month of December parking is free in all the local authority car parks in Arklow.

With the exception of Main Street, shoppers can park up and enjoy a browse safe in the knowledge that they won’t have to dash back to their cars to replace an expired parking ticket.

Once the Christmas shopping is done, many look ahead to picking up a new festive outfit or booking in a hair or beauty appointment and Arklow is full of options in this regard.

Everything on even the most lengthy of Christmas shopping lists can be picked up or ordered for delivery into local retail outlets so why not give shopping local a try and see how much easier and less stressful it can make the festive season.
