Post-It In Support Wall. The atmosphere in the school was further enhanced with students placing their unique finger print on our school ribbon further emphasising the theme for the week; ‘Be Yourself because an original is worth more than a copy’.
The competition organised by the Student Council asked students to take the theme and present a piece of prose, poetry or art. The winners of the competition were announced by the officers of the Student Council and all winners received an LGBT badge.
The winners of the competition were Emma Cetin, Fearne McMahon, Jessica Usher, Tara O’Shea, Allie Joe Martin, Tommy Cox, Gemma Copeland, Sarah Kearns, Ella Rose Whelan, Siana Lacey, Caitlin O’Leary, Ross Walker-Burke, Ryan Byrne, Aideen Reilly, Ethan Kelly, Faoileann Levick, Ali Byrne and Maedhb Murphy.

SCIENCE QUIZ
On Thursday, November 16, nine sixth year students attended the Irish Science Teachers Association Regional Quiz in Gorey Community School. The girls represented St Mary’s excellently with one group achieving shared Second place and narrowly losing a place at the national final on a tie breaker question. A huge well done to the students – Emily Keenan, Doireann Kavanagh, Hannah Woods, Amy Gavin, Anna Byrne, Aibhlin Crangle, Eve Dobson, Natalia Karwat and Heloise Murphy on their participation and achievement.
BASKETBALL
A huge congratulations to our under-19 Basketball team who, after winning their fourth consecutive game this year, have now progressed to the quarterfinal of the East Leinster Schools League. The last game of the group stages took place in UCD against St Conleth’s College on Tuesday, November 21, and St Mary’s ran out 34-6 winners to top their group.
The under-16s also had an impressive 50-12 win and they too progress to the quarter finals.
We wish both teams the best of luck in the quarters which are scheduled to be played this week and are very proud of their achievement to date.
