A SUCCESSFUL YEAR FOR VINTAGE CLUB

The Tom Kennedy Show has to date raised in excess of €12,000 for St Ann’s oncology ward at St Vincents, members of the Garden of Ireland Vintage Car Club heard at the recent AGM.

At the well-attended meeting in the Grove Bar, Delgany, club secretary Eileen Kennedy reviewed events held during the year, including the Tom Kennedy Show and the Liam Kelly Memorial Run.

The Chairperso­n in his address welcomed all of the members and thanked the members of the committee for their huge commitment in ensuring the smooth running of the affairs of the club.

A huge thank you was also extended to vice chairperso­n Willie Carrick who supplies raffle prizes every month. This is now one of the highlights of the meetings.

PRO Ann Nolan thanked all local media for their support as well as AB Print in Bray for the upkeep of the website. They thanked Dinny Doyle of The Grove for the use of his premises for their meetings and events.

Treasurer Charlotte Carolan gave account of the financial position, which is looking very healthy.

The officers elected were chairperso­n Mick Nolan, vice-chairperso­n Willie Carrick, secretary Eileen Kennedy, treasurer Charlotte Carolan, PRO Ann Nolan, events coordinato­rs Mick Nolan and Ray Hilliard and safety officer Shay Duffy. Plans are well in advance for the 2018 season. The club will also celebrate its 10th anniversar­y in 2018.
