Due to the inclement weather at the weekend all games fell foul of the bad weather, the senior men were due to travel to Naas for the third round of the Leinster Junior Cup but that was a victim of the bad weather as well.

Well at the time of going to print round 9 of our Last Man Standing competition was completed, we had 11 players left standing going into action at the weekend but that has now been whittled down to five players after the weekend’s series of games.

Two players went out after West Brom’s 1-0 defeat away to Swansea.

Two more players crashed out after Crystal Palace’s eventful 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth. A further two players were eliminated when their selection Newcastle slipped up 3-2 at St James Park to Leicester.

Burnley’s narrow 1-0 win over Watford was good enough to see three players progress to round 10 while Leicester 3-2 win over Newcastle saw two players make it through. Previous Last Man Standing champion Greg Dunne is still clinging on in there in an attempt to become the first player to win the competition for a second time.

Round 10 should be a tense affair. Good luck to our remaining five players in round 10.
