A new local history book has just been published entitled ‘Aghowle – Where the Divil Ate the Tinker’ by local woman Margaret Connolly. This book tells the history of the townland of Aghowle which lies about four miles from Ashford on the slopes of Carrick Mountain, and is where Margaret grew up during the 1960s and 1970s.
