New members welcome

KILDARE/WEST WICKLOW Indoor bowls now has a membership of over 600 with 27 clubs in Kildare and four clubs in west Wicklow, Baltinglass, Hollywood, Blessington, and Donard-The Glen, and are hoping to expand that number in the coming months.

New members are always welcome. The association has recently set up a Facebook page for further information(Kildarewestwicklow indoor bowling association). Anyone interested in joining an existing club or setting up a club in their community can contact the development officer on 0877538664.

The association has acquired Rathcoffey GAA venue to hold all association competitions, league, championsips and team events, having purchased eight full sets of bowling equipment.

This would not have been possible without the commitment of club members when fund raising to achieve this top class facility which is now enjoyed by all members.

The aim of the association committee is to continually get people involved in indoor bowling.

It’s a very low impact, enjoyable and skilful game suitable for all ages and a great way of meeting new people.

There is a level of competition for all members, with five league divisions, six championship categories and many other fun events during the bowling season.
