Karen Norman, Holly Norman, Clare McEvoy and Michael Norman at Wear the Dress for MS at the Grand Hotel on Saturday.
DRESS for MS (multiple sclerosis) proved a real night to remember as a whopping €2,500 was raised.
Hosted by Selina Lennox in the Grand Hotel, the night gave everyone the chance to wear that much-loved outfit in your wardrobe which you can never find an opportunity to wear, from wedding dresses to cocktail and debs dresses.
There were also performances in the Friar Suite by The Chosen Few and the Unity Gospel Choir.
Businesses were extremely generous with their donation of prizes for the raffle.
Special mention for Louise Shearer, artist extraordinaire, who provided the top raffle prize of an oil portrait. Congratulations to Karen Norman on your win.
Best dressed couple on the night were Deirdre Fitzpatrick and kathleen Coudrey.
The best dressed ladies on the night were Mary Heaslip and Carmel Finegan.
Manager of Oslo Chloe Madden and Jenny from Ghost provided the prizes. The best dressed man prize went to Jonathon Patton.
Speaking after the event, Selina said: ‘most of all I pass on my thanks to all the girls who wore their wedding dresses and didn’t leave me on my own. Elsie Ryan Chairperson of the east coast branch of the MS Society was there on the night to thank everyone and I would like to offer my thanks to her for the time and work she gave to make the night a success.’
All the proceeds will be donated to the south east branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, who provide emotional and carer support and practical help.
