Rathnew girls buzzing after Ireland’s Got Talent dance

‘XQUISITE’ DANCERS STRAIGHT INTO SEMIS AFTER VAN OUTEN HITS THE GOLDEN BUZZER

- By MYLES BUCHANAN

THREE young dancers from Rathnew lit up TV3’s Ireland’s Got Talent show last Saturday, prompting judge Denise Van Outen to hit the ‘golden buzzer’ and send them straight into the semi-finals.

Eight-year-old Freya Roche, nineyear-old Kate Goulding and elevenyear-old Mia Jameson were among the ten-person dance group Xquisite, who wowed a captive audience in the National Concert Hall.

Despite admitting to some early nerves, the ‘baby ballroom’ dancers showed no such anxieties once they took to the stage.

They performed as five juvenile couples to Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off.

Their lively routine resulted in a standing ovation from an appreciative audience, followed seconds later by all four judges.

Speaking about their routine, Denise Van Outen said: ‘Everything about that from start to finish was brilliant. Your footwork was amazing.’

Fellow judge Michelle Visage said: ‘You can tell how much time your put into it because there is so much passion there.’

Louis Walsh didn’t hold back, stating: ‘so young, so exciting, so slick – amazing.’

Meanwhile, Jason Byrne said: ‘When I was your age I stuck a crayon up my nose. That’s all I could do.’

With the tension building, Denise then took everyone by surprise by announcing her intention to press the Golden Buzzer and send Xquisite straight through to the semi-finals.

They are the third golden buzzer recipients of the series so far, with three shows having already aired.

The kids all attend the Xquisite Dance Club located in Tallaght, where their main teacher is Nicole.
