AFTER countless meeting’s back and forth, Kilbride and Lacken finally combined forces to unite as one in recent weeks.
However, things didnt go to plan in their opening fixture against parish neighbours Blessington last weekend.
The homeside, wearing Lacken jerseys, put in a storming opening period and should have taken the spoils with a late rally in the closing stages off this game. A penalty miss and a number of missed goal chances let the Blues off the hook.

Lacken’s Timmy Broe opened proceedings in the first minute with a point from an acute angle before a Matt Cripps shot from 30 meters out somehow found the back of the Blessington net to give the homeside a healthy cushion.
In Blessington’s first attack,out on the wing, David Williamson fired in a cross to the danger-zone, where the on-running Peter O’Toole fisted the ball past Diarmuid Haughian into the net to get the Blues off the mark in the seventh minute.
