Ria Organics coming up roses

-

SKINCARE company Ría Organics has planted organic rose crops in the Garden County in order to produce rosehip oil for its certified beauty products.

The family business, located in Kilmacanogue, wants to deliver authentically Irish organic skincare, starting with the rosehip oil project.

The company involves Nicola King, a nurse with specialized training in skin healing and renewal, and her brothers, Richard King, a water scientist and PhD candidate in Environmental Engineering, and Andrew King, a horticulturist.

‘Ireland has a rich growing climate that is largely untapped in the cosmetics context. We want to expand our organic growing programme to reduce the need to import ingredients,’ said Richard.

Crops of organic lavender and lupin flowers are also in the sights of the fledgling beauty business.

Ría Organics is a boutique skincare range which currently includes an Energising Day Cream, Replenishing Night Cream and Restorative Eye Cream.

Nicola came up with the rage having studied organic skincare production in London. Natural plant extracts and organic oils are combined with anti-oxidant vitamins C and E to produce lasting hydration and protect the skin.

The light nourishing blends absorb quickly, help encourage collagen production and maintain younger-looking supple skin.

The skincare line is currently available online at www.riaorganics.ie and in The Health Store outlets in Dublin as well as in select beauty salons and pharmacies nationwide.
