CLUB CALL

form the game started to take on a different complexion.

The hosts began to make inroads on their opponents lead and by the tenth end had levelled up the match at ten scores apiece.

It was now game on. It was shot for shot and score for score for the remainder of the match with the sides level once again at 11-11 on the twelfth end.

On the next couple of ends Allen had moved three scores ahead and this looked as if was enough in a tight game to see off the challenge with only one end to play.

Ardclough fought back again to register three scores and bring the game to its final conclusion to level for the third time in another classic game of bowls.

Final score: Ardclough 14, Allen 14.

Ardclough: Tommy Maguire, Kaye Nolan, Yvonne Condron and Tony Maguire.

Allen: Helen Lawlor, Brendan Madden, Paddy Boland and Paddy Whelan.

Best for Ardclough: Yvonne Condron and Nina Delmar who played an exceptional game.

Best for Allen: Helen Lawlor and Billy Kennedy.

Ardclough move up to fourth from the top, and Allen drop to third from the bottom.
