Young players all set for Liverpool
RATHNEW AFC managed to fit in a mega-fundraiser for their Under-12 side a few days before the weather broke.
The fundraiser held in the clubhouse was organised to help raise money for an away trip to Liverpool for the Under-12 players.
A car wash service was available for anyone who wanted a bit of clean-up of their motor.
Professional barbers and hairstylists were also on hand to give a makeover to anyone who felt their locks could do with a bit of a trim.
Visitors were asked to bring along any unwanted clothes with all the proceeds from the clothes sale going toward the cost of the trip.
Other supporters grouped together to make a selection of cakes which were all sold on the day. A raffle was also held featuring prizes such as an overnight stay in Druid’s Glen Hotel and sunglasses valued at €200. The community spirit prize winners on the day were Rachel McDevitt, Mary Murphy, James Hutson, Ann Keane, Tracy Gregory, Julie Butler, Darren Wilfred, Carmel Minoge, Thomas Murphy, Brendan Byrne, John Shea, Nicola Keane and Mary Murphy.
