The numbers: 5, 9, 10 and 24 were drawn in the sports club lotto on Monday last, February 26, Match-three winner was: Rory and Geraldine O’Brien. The jackpot was won by Sharon Keogh, Rednagh Hill. The jackpot is €1,500.

Co & the Wicklow Co Co outdoor team who have worked hard throughout the extreme weather to ensure emergency & essential services were not interrupte­d by keeping the roads plowed & gritted.

Well done to the following members of our community Gerry Holt, Clive Crammond, Mark Whelan, Kevin Harper, George Langrell & Luke Fleming & many other unsung heroes who all spent the morning clearing roads in estates, back roads & laneways helping people make their way to the village & regional roads.

Last but not least we thank Sammy who is quietly working away in the village clearing the footpaths. Great Community Spirit . We have seen some brilliant snowy pictures of the village & area over the past few days & hopefully we can use some for our Christmas card later on. Well Done everyone. Please share & tag thanks.

Scoil Aodan Noafa Carnew split-the-pot of February 23 was Lil Hennessy winning €272, sellers prize was Leah Doran and lucky dip was Libby Byrne, tickets only €2 from the school or local shops, many thanks to everyone for their support.

GAA LOTTO

St Patrick’s Day parade committee would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported the 2017 St Patrick’s Day parade so generously, both financiall­y and by giving of their time.

The quality of the parade is very much based on the effort put in to creating floats and so we ask for as many floats as possible to take part in our 2018 Parade – the more colourful and imaginativ­e the better.

This year’s Parade takes place on Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m. If anyone is interested in joining the committee or volunteeri­ng for an hour or two on the day, please contact us at Carnew TDC at 053 9426555.

LENTEN MISSION

A Lenten mission will take place in the parish of Kilrush, Bunclody and Ferns parishes from March 4 to March 8 at the same time in each parish, starting on the fourth at 7 p.m., Monday at 7.30 p.m. Healing Mass in Kilrush, Tuesday is at 7.30 p.m., Healing Mass in Bunclody, Wednesday 7.30 p.m. Healing Mass in Ferns, Thursday at 7.30 p.m. all are welcome to Kilrush for the closing of the Mission with Koinonia Community. Let’s talk family, Let’s be family.

The next bingo will be on Sunday, March 11, and 25 at 2.30 p.m. in St Bridget’s Hall, Carnew, all welcome and thanks to everyone for their support todate.
