English class

Two free English language classes are to be held at Wicklow Further Education and Training Centre this month.

The certificate courses are QQI Level 2 (advanced beginners) and QQI Level 3 (improvers) will take place on Wednesday evenings.

The courses are for English speakers of other languages and preference will be given to those on social welfare payments or in low-paid employment.

The Wicklow and Rathnew Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from September 2 to September 7 and the Spiritual Leader will be Fr Donal Roche.

The cost is €745, and includes a deposit of €200 per person. There is a single room supplement of €180 per person.

The price includes return coach transfer to Dublin Airport, return flights from Dublin to Lourdes, five nights accommodation in the four star Hotel Solitude based on sharing a twin room with facilities, all meals for the duration of the stay, free comprehensive insurance, airport taxes, full assistance of a Pilgrimages Abroad rep and a full religious programme while in Lourdes. All cheques must be made payable to Pilgrimages Abroad.

A Medjugorje Group Pilgrimage takes place from July 25 to August 1, costing €609 per person.

The trip is being organised by Marian Pilgrimages and the contacts are Mick and Maura Heffernan on (0404) 46583.

There will be return flights from Dublin and seven nights accommodation near St James’ Church with breakfast and dinner included. There will also be coach transfers accompanied by a local guide and assistance from a Marian Pilgrimages representative with 24-hour support throughout the stay.
