Nursery (4-6-year-old): Dave McCormick Best of luck to the under-17s lads who are playing with Pearse Gaels this year and they have their first league match at Newtown on Friday, March 16.

Unfortunat­ely the under-16 girls team panel is too low on numbers this year and the club are working with parents to find teams where they can play this year.

A Magpie legend, Jack Martin, passed away last week. Jack was left full-back on the 1964 championsh­ip winning team and also played on many Schweppes Cup winning teams. He was one of the most formidable defenders of his generation and was certainly not a player you wanted marking you. Our deepest condolence­s are with Kathleen, Denise and Anna. May he rest in peace

Membership fees are now due and again are one of the lowest in the county, there are no changes to the individual fees with juvenile family fee at €120 and adult family at €200.

The club would like some parents to walk with their kids in the St.Patrick’s Day Parade, leaving Gregorys Garage at 11.00 on Saturday morning.

Seven people matched three numbers in last weeks lotto, but no jackpot winner, this weeks jackpot rolled over to €5,000. Numbers drawn were 10, 15, 17, and 22.

St Patrick’s GAA Club Registrati­on Day on Saturday, March 24, at 10.30am until 13.30pm in the clubhouse Dunbur. All members new and old welcome.

Anyone wishing to register their son or daughter is welcome to call to club, Adult players from all teams are also invited to come along and pay their annual membership fee. Subject to a pitch inspection our “Little Warriors” are starting the season on Saturday, March 24, at 10am for boys and girls age 4-6. Fun games, getting to meet new friends and learning new skills, are what our nursery is all about. we look forward to welcoming those back from last year and meeting our new recruits!

REMINDER - Coach and Referee Education Courses upcoming

Important notice for all under-11 teams 2018: Clubs are now required to send one coach involved with under-11 hurling and football teams for 2018 to this referee course as we will need them to assist in completing the games programme for 2018 as we have a shortage of referees. Referees must be over 18 years.

Coaching officer workshop is now on Wednesday, March 14, at 7.30pm in Ballinakil­l.
