DRAMA FINALS

The launch night for the all-Ireland Confined Drama Finals will take place in the Corner House, Carnew on Friday, March 16, next at 8 p.m. The South Wicklow Drama Festival committee are delighted to announce that Anne Doyle, Irish Journalist and former RTÉ Newsreader will be in attendance and will launch the festival.

MOUSETACUL­AR EVENT

A Mousetacul­ar Event of knitting projects will take place in Carnew Community Care on March 14 from 3.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Not to be missed, all are welcome to attend, suitable for all the family, due to demand and popularity extended viewings will take place on March 15 and16from2­p.m.to4p.m.

SPLIT-THE-POT

The winner of the Ballyellis National School split-the-pot this week is Patrick Tomkins winning €219. Congratula­tions, Patrick. We thank everyone for supporting split-the-pot. Envelopes can be obtained from the School or any parent and from Ashling Walsh after weekend Masses in Askamore Church. Draws will take place every Friday morning in Ballyellis School.

A Big Thank You is extended to everyone for supporting the annual Reindeer food appeal. The grand total of €1,443 was raised and donated to Solas Autism Unit, Dunlavin.

FARMERS MARKET

The next Farmers Market will take place on April 14 at 10 a.m. Great selection of home made and home grown produce.

FAMILY FASHION SHOW

This fundraiser will take place on March 23 in Rathsallag­h Golf Club and once again we would like to take this opportunit­y to thank you most sincerely for your support with all our fundraisin­g over the last four years, and to ask that you might consider supporting this event.

Tickets will go on sale this weekend for €20. Available from the parish office and the Committee Members. We will also be calling to your house over the few weeks. There is a prize on the night for the ‘Best dressed Lady and Gentleman in the Audience’ so get those ‘Glad Rags’ out and you just might be surprised.

We are producing a brochure and are looking for you to consider sponsoring an advert. Advertisem­ents: €50 per page – €30 for half page.

We will also be having a raffle and the cards will be in the local business’s in the town next week. €2 per line or three lines for €5. If you can support this fundraiser we would be most grateful.

The Camphill Farm shop opens every Thursday in Grangebeg from 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. lots of fresh organic vegetables and eggs for sale.

FRIENDSHIP CLUB

The friendship club meet in the Parish Centre on Fridays from 3p.m.to5p.m.Allnewmemb­ers welcome. If you have a neighbour or relative that might benefit from the club please bring them along.

MUSIC LESSONS

Music lessons continue in Donard National school on Thursdays at 8 p.m. – tin whistle, flute, fiddle, banjo, concertina, accordion. Beginners welcome. Instuments available to borrow.

LINE DANCING

Line Dancing continues in the Imaal Hal on Wednesdays from 8p.m.to10p.m.atacostofo­nly €6. New beginners are welcome, so come along learn a new skill and join the craic.
