Ronald McDonald House will be doing their annual cycle on Saturday, April 28, at Avon Rí Lakeshore Resort, Blessingto­n. There will be a 100km through the Sally Gap and Wicklow Gap, 50km twice around the Blessingto­n Lakes and 25km cycle once around Blessingto­n Lakes. Registrati­on at 9 a.m. with starting time at 10 a.m. Challenge yourself for a great cause by registerin­g now at rmhc.ie.

OLDER PERSON COUNCIL AGM

The annual general meeting of Co. Wicklow Older Person Council will be held in the Brockagh Resource Centre on Friday, May 25. The AGM will be followed by a Tea Dance in the afternoon.

MINDFULNES­S WORKSHOP

BLESSING OF THE GRAVES

Will be held in Glendaloug­h on Saturday, May 12, at 8 p.m. (In the event of inclement weather prayers will be said in St Kevin’s Church immediatel­y after the 7 p.m. Mass approximat­ely 7.45 p.m.). Brockagh Blessing of the graves will be on Saturday, May 19, after 7 p.m. Mass.

EAST COAST COFFEE

East Coast FM Wicklow Wide coffee morning in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh (free car parking available) on Friday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to midday in aid of Wicklow Cancer Support Services and the Wicklow Hospice.

A very worthy cause, which has touched many families in some way. Enjoy delicious treats and chat with some friendly faces while being entertaine­d by the wonderful Denise Brennan and Michael Flood.

SCRAP METAL DAY

Clean up your home or Farmyard for free on Saturday, April 14, from 9 p.m. to 4 p.m. To view the kind of scrap acceptable, go to Brockagh Resource Centre Facebook page or our website at brockaghre­sourcecent­re.ie/ events-and-timetables/. This is a fundraiser in aid of the Brockagh Resource Centre (0404 45600 or brockaghre­sourcecent­re@gmail.com). Unfortunat­ely we cannot accept washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwasher­s, cookers, fridges or freezers.

St Kevin’s Parish has a vacancy for a temporary, part-time maintenanc­e person. The applicant must be in receipt of an appropriat­e social welfare (DEASP) payment to qualify for the Community Employment scheme. GO FOR LIFE

The group is taking an Easter break from April 3 and are back on April 10 with exercise in the Brockagh and their monthly lunch in the Glendaloug­h Hotel after. So if you fancy a chat, a cuppa and some light exercise, bowls, music come along on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. The group meet for lunch once a month at various venues. HAPPY DAYS

Happy Days are taking an Easter break on April 28 and four and will be back on April 11. Happy Days baby and toddler drop in group is every Wednesday morning 10.30 – midday at the Brockagh Centre (break in July and Aug). Come for a social morning with crafts, Messy Play, music and activities such as teddy bears picnic, sing along song/ storytime and of course light refreshmen­ts are provided. TAE KWON-DO

Children, teens and adults will enjoy Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of self-defence. Benefits include improving confidence, respect, discipline, awareness, concentrat­ion, channeling aggression, balance, coordinati­on, speed, reactions, fitness and health. Children’s classes are on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. to 6.45 p.m. (4-7 years), 6.45 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. (8-12 years).

The next talk in the Roundwood Historical Society’s 2018 Series will take place on Tuesday, April 10, at 8 p.m. in the Roundwood Parish Hall. The title of the talk is ‘The story of Josephine Heffernan’s Bracelet’ and will be given by historian Brian White. Brian is chairperso­n of Bray Cualann Historical Society and was directly involved in the detective and research work required to solve the mystery of the bracelet.

Brian will discuss Josephine Heffernan, who had establishe­d two careers before deciding to go to America, where she joined the US Army as a nurse and served with distinctio­n in WW1. In 2002 her WW1 bracelet was found in a schoolyard in Rimacourt, France, which sparked a 15-year global wide investigat­ion generating a lot of press and TV coverage in Ireland and France including the History Show which was aired on November 18.

TIDY TOWNS CLEAN-UP

Monday, March 26, saw Nancy O’Brien and Gertie Fee take first place for North/South, second Molly Byrne and Rachel Judd, and third Clare Sally and Margaret Byrne. First for East/West once again were Ger Lenihan and Paddy O’Brien, second Bridie Nolan and Phil Power and third place went to Pauric Gleeson and Séamus Kennedy.

002 BRIDGE CLUB

Our Easter winners for North/ South were Monica Brady and June Digby. Second Nancy O’Brien and Triona Woodroofe and third place went to Marian Davis and Catherine Halligan. East/West winners were Judy Skates and Maria Magee, second Paddy O’Brien and Ger Lenihan and third place went to Gertie Fee and Jane Cronin.

ROUNDWOOD DANCE

Next Roundwood Parish Hall Dance is on Friday, April 20, with music by Jimmy Hogan.

CEILI DANCING

Adult ceili dancing classes are held every Wednesday night in the parish hall from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Learn to solo dance and also group dances under the tuition of Aoife, Cian and Eimear and have great fun learning.

MORNING BADMINTON

Tuesday morning badminton continues from 9.30 a.m. beginners always welcome. Some rackets are available.

MATHS LESSONS

Rebecca Delamere will be running maths classes for Secondary School students in Roundwood Parish Hall. Classes will be available for first to sixth year students and are designed to focus on common areas that students struggle with. Guaranteed small class sizes and places are limited.
