Ronald McDonald House will be doing their annual cycle on Saturday, April 28, at Avon Rí Lakeshore Resort, Blessington. There will be a 100km through the Sally Gap and Wicklow Gap, 50km twice around the Blessington Lakes and 25km cycle once around Blessington Lakes. OLDER PERSON COUNCIL AGM
The annual general meeting of Co. Wicklow Older Person Council will be held in the Brockagh Resource Centre on Friday, May 25. The AGM will be followed by a Tea Dance in the afternoon.

East Coast FM Wicklow Wide coffee morning in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh (free car parking available) on Friday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to midday in aid of Wicklow Cancer Support Services and the Wicklow Hospice.

SCRAP METAL DAY

The group is taking an Easter break from April 3 and are back on April 10 with exercise in the Brockagh and their monthly lunch in the Glendalough Hotel after. HAPPY DAYS
Happy Days are taking an Easter break on April 28 and four and will be back on April 11. Happy Days baby and toddler drop in group is every Wednesday morning 10.30 – midday at the Brockagh Centre (break in July and Aug). Come for a social morning with crafts, Messy Play, music and activities such as teddy bears picnic, sing along song/ storytime and of course light refreshments are provided. Children, teens and adults will enjoy Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of self-defence. The next talk in the Roundwood Historical Society’s 2018 Series will take place on Tuesday, April 10, at 8 p.m. in the Roundwood Parish Hall. The title of the talk is ‘The story of Josephine Heffernan’s Bracelet’ and will be given by historian Brian White. Brian is chairperson of Bray Cualann Historical Society and was directly involved in the detective and research work required to solve the mystery of the bracelet.
Brian will discuss Josephine Heffernan, who had established two careers before deciding to go to America, where she joined the US Army as a nurse and served with distinction in WW1. In 2002 her WW1 bracelet was found in a schoolyard in Rimacourt, France, which sparked a 15-year global wide investigation generating a lot of press and TV coverage in Ireland and France including the History Show which was aired on November 18.
