Club members had an Easter break from bridge from Thursday through to the Bank Holiday Monday. Wednesday, March 28 were the only results. First place went to Heather Sheane and Jane Bradshaw. Second were Angela Heffernan and Carmel Tiernan and in third place Jo Kavanagh and Tish Costello.

Wednesday, March 21 was a busy night with stiff competition and the final result was a first place finish for Margaret Grant and Jackie Dempsey. Second were Marie Barrett and Martha Ffrench with third place going to Norma Somers and Marion O’Shaughnessy.

Thursday March 22 saw Nellie Ivory and Gerry Downes win. In second were Paul Fenton and Timmy Doyle and in third Jo Kavanagh and Fran Duffy. It is proving a popular night with great improvements with beginners and lessons provided a great advantage.

On Friday, March 23, t morning showed high scores for a number of players and scores remained very close for some. First place went to Margaret Nevin and Jack McElhinney and joint second to Noel Cassidy and Joe Heaslip and Leonard Murphy and Edward Kiilcoyne.

Monday, March 26 saw first place go to Gwen Teevan and Patricia Doyle. In second were Tony Decourcey and Elizabeth McCarthy and in third place Michael and Nell O’Gorman.
