Fundraiser a safe bet!
HORSE-RACING fans didn’t have to go far to enjoy a night at the races recently as a charity race night took place in Arklow in aid of the local RNLI.
The event was organised by Joy Crosbie and funds raised are to be put towards the running of this year’s Maritime Festival.
A great crowd turned up at Kenny’s of the Harbour to place a few bets and cheer on their chosen horses.
It was an evening full of entertainment thanks to Gerry Weller, who offered his services on the night as commentator, and a great job he did.
Joy thanked everyone who showed support and said that it was a great night for a worthy cause.
This year’s Arklow Maritime Festival takes place from Friday, August 3, to Sunday, August 5.
