Golf Classic - After the success of it’s long awaited return last year, Coolboy Handball and GAA clubs will join forces once again to host a Golf Classic on Sunday, May 6, in Coollattin Golf Club.

Teams of four will compete on the day to win various prizes including ‘Nearest to Pin’ and ‘Longest Drives’.

Teams of four are €160 including food. Tee times are now available and if you are interested in playing please contact Miley O’Keeffe or Patricia Byrne.

After the day golfing, there will be a night of entertainm­ent in the clubhouse with the presentati­on of prizes followed by music until late.

Cards are now on sale for our raffle on the night. First prize is a signed jersey by the reigning three-in-a-row All-Ireland champions, Dublin. Second prize is dinner and show for two to Des Willoughby Promotions Concert and Dance Weekend while third prize is €100 cash. Lines are €2 each and cards are available from all footballer­s, hand ballers, committee members from both clubs, Christys, Sonny’s and The Little Moon.

League Roundup - The team travelled to Blessingto­n for our first away match in the league.

Unfortunat­ely things didn’t go to plan and we lost out on a score line of 5-12 to 1-5.

We wish Dan Nolan a speedy recovery after picking up an injury at the match.

We are away to Baltinglas­s this Saturday, April 14, at 5pm. As always, fixtures are subject to last minute changes. All traveling support is appreciate­d.

7pm against St Nicks 2 and St Kevin’s.

Under-9s - The under-9s put in a super team performanc­e away to Ardclough on Saturday in the NKB league.

All the team played exceptiona­lly well with all their skills on show but their kick passing really stood out. With a lot of the regulars away special mention to Kayden and Fionn who stepped up from the under-8s and slotted in perfectly.

Under-8s – 36 under-8 hurlers and footballer­s had a fantastic day in Croke Park on Tuesday, April 3. Great memories for the kids and families alike. Thanks to the coaches for a great day. On Saturday, April 14 the under-8s (x2) at home v St Kevin’s at 2.30pm.

Under-7s - We had our first under-7 match on Saturday in the NKL against Raheens.

We performed very well working hard for each other and with the majority playing their first ever game we came out on top at the end. Well done to all and BIG thank you to all the parents that made the journey to support. Training on Monday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

Go Games - Stratford’s Go Games blitz was postponed due to unplayable pitches last Saturday.

Senior Ladies – Blessingto­n GAA Senior ladies took on AGB at home last Friday.

It was a great win for our ladies. 6-14 to 1-03. Brilliant preformanc­e from the whole team from the first second to the last forward and defensive play was excellent all over the pitch. A great start to the league campaign.

Very hard to pick, but Anna Vas was lady of the match tonight with a super preformanc­e. Well done to Ellie McKeever and Sarah Bohan who both came on to make their senior debuts.

Scorers: Shona O’Connor 3-0, Jess Brennan, 0-6, Roisin Ellis 2-0, Laura Allen 1-01, Molly Cullen 0-3, Ellen Quinn 0-1, Amy Ryan 0-1, Nicole Walsh 0-1, Emma Reid 0-1. Ladies are away against Ballyboden on Wednesday, April 11 at 7pm and away to Tinahely on Friday, April 13 at 7pm.

Under-12s - Great start to the league for our under-12 girls teams at home on Saturday. The White team played a brilliant game against Éire Óg and after a strong second half came out winners 3-4 to 1-3. Scorers: Abbie O’Riordan 1-1, Asia Duggan 1-1, Aoife Kinsella 1-0, Aibhe King 0-2. Player of the match was Aibhe King

who had an outstandin­g game in her first ever GAA match.

The Blue team had a strong team performanc­e, defeating Baltinglas­s 2-5 to 1-1. Scorers: Leila Shannon 1-0 Aisling Brennan 1-0 Anna Carlyon 0-3 Ella Richardson 0-1. Super game for player of the match Aisling Brennan.

Under-10s – The under-10 girls played Baltinglas­s last Saturday. This was a great performanc­e by all the girls in their first game of the season. Well done to all.

Hurling – Féile Hurling on April 14 and 15. Western Gaels are up against Carnew and Glenealy. Commences at 11am. Venue to be confirmed.

Under-15s – Michael Dwyers take on Bray Emmets in Blessingto­n on Wednesday (today) at 7pm.

Under-7/Under-9 – Monster blitz in Ballinakll at 11am this weekend.

Under-9s – At home against Broadford on Sunday at 11am.

Under-8s – Our under-8s travelled to Maynooth on Sunday. A tough game, but we won well. Indoor training sessions appeared to have paid off. Well done to Abbey McCarthy on her first game. Tom Fleming and Luke Fairfax determinat­ion was evident. Manager Jack was well impressed. Training on Thursday.
