Very lively trade today in Tullow amongst all the pressures the farmers are currently meeting with the weather conditions.

The forward type store bks meeting a very lively trade with those FR types selling from €1.80 per kg up to a tops today of €1050 given for those continenta­l CH type bks.

Store cattle holding an equally lively trade with those good continenta­l bks very much in demand with those 380kg to 450kg type bks selling in the region from €800 up to €1120 and they being 420kg making €1120 LMX while we saw the heavier type store bks for grass selling in the region from €1.85per kg for the FR types up to a tops of €2.60 per kg for continenta­l type bks.

The beef and butcher type hfrs selling from €1.95 up to a tops today of €1000 with the kg for the continenta­l type hfrs while we saw some very lively demand for the store type hfrs. Hfrs over 400kg selling from €800 up to a tops of €1050 for 420kg and those heifers over 500kg selling up to €2.35 per kg while the lighter heifers equally a very lively trade selling anything from €2 per kg for the HE and AA types upwards of €2.80 per kg given for the continenta­ls with some exceptiona­l ones pushing up over €3.

FR cull cows from €150 to €200 with the kg for the feeding type younger cows with the continenta­l cows equally briskly from €300 up to €750 given with the kg for well fleshed continenta­l type cows.

Very lively trade in the calf ring. The FR type calves improving by €10 to €20 per head for the shipper type calves selling from €70 up to €120 per head with the hfr HE and AA selling from €130 to €250 bulls from €180 up to €300 with some continenta­l bulls braking the €400 mark and some continenta­l hfrs pushing up to €360.
