Fun in the sun at country fair

-

THERE was a fantastic turnout at the annual Ashford Country Fair on Monday.

The very popular annual event took place in the iconic grounds of the Bel-Air Hotel and was a wonderful day out for all the family, offering everything from food and fashion to country skills and a dog show.

On the day there were two separate gun dog demonstrations, one working with Labradors, the other with Springer Spaniels where those attending got to see the experts putting the dogs through their pace.

The hugely popular dog show attracted a wide range of entries in all classes and dogs of all sizes and breeds were catered for.

Another very popular attraction was the entertaining duck herder who gave three separate demonstrations throughout the afternoon where a dog skilfully herded a number of ducks into a pen.

The falconry display also went down a treat with those in attendance while children of all ages were enthralled with the wide variety of popular farm animals on show including a donkey, calf, sheep, lambs, goats and hens.

The vintage tractor display and the pony club demonstration also went down a treat. There was also a huge range of stalls including jewellery, crafts, pottery, books, clothes and country produce while there was also a butter making demonstration.
