O’CONNOR’S ON FIRE
Double delight as Tinahely team win league and cup titles
THE South East pool finals were held last weekend with the O’Connor’s team from Tinahely winning the ‘A’ League and Cup double.
The ‘A’ League final was held in Parkview, Shillelagh, between O’Connor’s and Parkview.
Both teams had county player on board with the O’Connor’s team having seven player from the Wicklow team and Parkview boasting four Wicklow and two Wexford team players.
The first match was won by Parkview after Eugene Kenny beat Conor O’Byrne 3-1.
O’Connor’s then hit back withWayne Brennan beating Robbie Elliott 3-0, and Mark Murray beat Wexford team player Gavin Kelly 3-2 to give O’Connors a 2-1 lead .
Matt Browne then defeated Mark Collins 3-1 to help O’Connor’s win the league title back after losing the final to the Harp Bar last year.
The ‘B’ League final was won by Joe O’Toole’s from Aughrim after they beat the Harp Bar from Rathvilly 3-2.
The Shield final was won by The Lodge from Carnew after they defeated The Corner House from Hacketstown 3-2 in the Shield final.
