Council agrees to disposal of land

-

FURTHER information was sought over a couple of disposals of council land which came before the elected members for consideration on Monday.

All councillors agreed to the disposal of Wicklow County Council’s freehold interest in 75 O’Byrne Road, Bray to Whilhelmina Cox, 75, O’Byrne Road, Bray

It was also agreed by all members to dispose of 1.9 acres in Inchanappa, Ashford to John Fitzpatrick, Inchanappa, Ashford.

However, questions were raised over the disposal of property known as 4 Bath Street, Wicklow town to Augustus Cullen as legal personal representative of Annie Carroll, deceased.

Cllr Shay Cullen queried: ‘The new map we have been provided with has an extra piece of land included which wasn’t on the original map. Is there a change in the valuation?’

Senior Executive Officer Lorraine Gallagher replied that there was no change in the valuation as a slight change to the boundaries didn’t change any of the specifics.

Cllr Tom Fortune said he would be abstaining from the vote as he didn’t know enough about it. A decision on the disposal was delayed until later in the meeting when it was revealed that a mapping error was the reason for the difference in the two maps. The disposal was passed.

Cllr Christopher Fox also noted a discrepancy over the map provided regarding the disposal of 1.27 acres in Glencap Commons North, Clencap to Michael and Maura Ronan of Symphony House, Kilmacanogue. Again a mapping error was responsible and the disposal was agreed.
