An early evening throw in due to pitch availability saw us face Confey from Leixlip in the third round of the NKL Cup on Wednesday, May 9, at home.

Despite most of possession and some errant finishing, half time saw us in the lead in a tough contest.

The second half saw Confey come back strongly but Blessington scored a goal late on to secure passage to this weekends Q/F draw. Some great performances and effort shown especially in defence. Final score Blessington 4-06, Confey 4-03. Next round of NKL Cup this Wednesday. At time of writing draw not issued yet.

Under-12s v St Edwards away on Saturday, May 12, in Rathcoffey. Due to injuries and unavailability the squad needed the help of some under-11s. Under-8s - Our Under-8 NKL league team played at home against Ardclough on Saturday and after a busy morning’s football at the Go Games the lads were slow to get going, but it didn’t take long for them to kick into gear and put in a great performance with some brilliantly worked team scores...emphasis today was on defending from the front and good tackling.

Under-7s – Great morning of football as Blessington hosted Go Games. We had two teams and hosted Baltinglass and Hollywood and did brilliantly in all games playing lovely football and working very hard for each other.

A win in all three, well deserved. Each of the girls were brilliant but a special mention has to go out to Elizabeth Hearns for her strength on the ball and Caoimhe Murphy with her super kick outs in goals. Well done to all. Unfortunately they were defeated but are optimistic for the coming months.

We are so proud of each and everyone of these young lads.

For any lads interested in hurling, we’ll be out training every Friday at 7pm.

We’d like to thank Luke O’Toole’s for their hospitality. Very much appreciated.
