‘We got that little

-

SEEING his side mix with one of the big boys yet again left Graham Kelly both pleased and confused.

Of the Seagulls’ eight points this season - all have come against members of the top five (Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers, Derry City & Waterford).

While he is very happy to know that they can trouble anybody on their day, he’s hoping that they can start to produce similar performances against their fellow strugglers sooner rather than later.

“We try to do it every game! But it does seem to happen against the big teams. If you look back at the performance against Limerick, we were excellent on that night too but just got nothing out of the game. We got that little bit of luck tonight.”

The Seagulls so nearly had nothing to show for their efforts on Monday but Gary McCabe’s injury time spot kick earned a point and it was no less than he feels his side deserved.

“It’s a huge boost. It’s a big point against a really top team. They’re title challengers, there’s no two ways about it. They’ve got quality all over the pitch and there’s a lot of investment in that squad and you can see it paying off.

“We were excellent in the first half, in the second half Waterford upped their game and they go 1-2 up and it looks like we’re getting nothing from the game but then in injury time we steal the point but it’s the bit of luck we’ve needed because it’s been going against us.”
