Points Gained Leaves Hollywood Finishing In Third Place - Hollywood Community hall was the venue for the Hollywood v Castlemitchell Division 1 bowling league clash.

This being the last match of the season for both teams it wasn’t a concern for either as regards relegation. Castlemitchell playing for the first time in the top division this season, following promotion last season were happy enough coming into this match holding a mid-table position.

Win or lose it was not going to change their standing either way.

Hollywood could also relax as they were holding fourth position from the top. A win would leap-frog them over Ardclough and push them into third spot, but it would have to be a win on both mats to secure the five points to leave them finishing in third place.

As to the game itself the visitors held their own for a number of ends on both mats, but once the home team got going they gradually took over and were never in any danger of losing.

Hollywood with their vast experience combined with having home advantage was no doubt a telling factor to the final result.

Castlemitchell fought a game fight but were just outclassed on the night, but they can look forward to many more battles in division 1 again next season. As for Hollywood they achieved what they set out to do in this game and secured the five points and also third spot.
