Gardaí are hoping to get dashcam footage from area

- By MARY FOGARTY

GARDAÍ in Bray are appealing to anyone with dashcam footage from near where Jastine Valdez was found to come forward. They continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

They are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Pucks Castle Lane, Murphy’s Lane or using Carrickgollogan Forest Recreation Area, or anyone who was in the vicinity of the Lead Mines in Kilternan from Saturday evening to Sunday evening who may have seen anything suspicious, and in particular the black Nissan Qashqai 171 D 20419.

They are also seeking assistance from hillwalkers or cyclists or anyone who may have driven through these locations and may be in possession of a dashcam that was operating during this timeframe to contact Bray Garda Station at 01 6665300, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666111, or any Garda Station.

The investigation into the kidnapping began with a report made by an Enniskerry woman who saw a woman being abducted on Saturday evening.

There was a protocol in place from that point on, including examining the scene, and after the report of Jastine’s disappearance, looking into her life from all angles and all possible explanations for her disappearance.

With a partial registration number, investigators had 1,000 possible vehicles to investigate.

They established who owned the car. At that woman’s home, she told gardaí that her husband was driving the car. He was not at the house. This followed the releasing of the registration number to the public, and subsequently the shooting dead of Mark Hennessy at Cherrywood, and the sad discovery of Ms Valdez’s remains following a large search operation.
