NEW BUS ROUTE TO DUBLIN IS ANNOUNCED

-

THERE’S good news in store for Wicklow and Arklow commuters as a new bus service to and from Dublin launches on June 1.

Wexford Bus has announced the brand new 740A route, which will originate in Gorey, pass through Wicklow town, stop at Leeson Street and then continue on to Dublin Airport.

There will be up to nine daily services in each direction and the route will serve those living around Arklow town, Jack Whites, The Beehive and Wicklow town. The last pick-up point before Dublin City will be the Grand Hotel in Wicklow.

Wexford Bus currently stops outside Arklow as part of the Wexford town to Dublin Airport route and Brendan Crowley, MD of Wexford Bus, said that the new route has been created in response to a demand for extra services in Wicklow.

‘We have listened to our customers in south Wicklow and have responded to their requests with the introduction of this new route. It will offer more flexibility to passengers and easier access to Dublin City and Airport for our customers in this area. Not only is this a great addition to our expanding network of routes but it has also brought about the creation of six new jobs within Wexford Bus,’ he said.

‘We continually strive to improve our service so new passengers will have access to a great range of value tickets, online booking and innovative facilities such as online seat reservation for daily commuters, on-board Wi-Fi and a live bus tracker,’ said Mr Crowley.

The first service on the 740A route will depart Gorey at 6 a.m. on Friday, June 1, and is expected to arrive at the Grand Hotel at 6.40 a.m., Leeson Street at 7.30 a.m. and Dublin Airport at 8.10 a.m. Coaches will be Wi-Fi enabled and will accept Leap Cards.
