The week started on a positive note with our Division 2 team beating Skerries 5 points to 2 in the rain last Tuesday evening. Wednesday saw the ladies travel to Dun Laoghaire where the locals proved too strong with a 6/1 victory.

Our Division 6 team under their new non playing captain Owen Byrne defeated Westmansto­wn by 3.5 points to 0.5.

Thursday saw all three Vets teams achieve clean sweeps ie all 4 points against Greenhills, Dun Laoghaire and Aer Lingus. Well done to all concerned

Saturday saw our ladies one rink team defeat Westmansto­wn at home and the Men’s Division 1 team beat Crumlin 4/3 where Walter Doyle’s rink were outstandin­g. Division 2 travelled to Westmansto­wn where they ran into a team at the top of their game who proved far too strong for the Bray lads.

Division 4 are in action on Monday evening away to Leinster. Wednesday sees both Ladies Division 1 and Men’s Division 6 at home to Westmansto­wn and Kenilworth respective­ly.

Thursday sees all 3 Vets teams back in action with Vets 1 away in Terenure against CYM.

Vets 2 at home to Westmansto­wn and Vets 3 away to Dun Laoghaire.

Here is hoping for another Super Thursday.This coming Saturday sees the ladies one rink team travel to the foothills of the Dublin Mountains to take on Greenhills.

There are no fixtures for the men this coming Saturday due to inter associatio­n fixtures. Both Division 1 and 2 resume next Tuesday (29th May) with Division 1 away to the aristocrat­s of St. James Gate and Division 2 at home to Crumlin.

All the internal club competitio­ns have commenced and we wish everybody all good fortune in their efforts to get their names on the honours board.

Patsy Donnelly was the winner of the lotto this week thus maintainin­g the ladies iron grip on the prize money to date. performanc­e but a special mention goes to Mark Johnson who played in goal and impressed everyone with his performanc­e between the posts.

His handling was excellent and midway through the first half he pulled off a stunning save at full stretch. The lads now have one game remaining and that’s away to Ayrfield Utd.

Our under-18s drew 2-2 away to league leaders Castleknoc­k Celtic, Luca Rampersaud put the lads in front but the home side hit back with two goals to lead at the interval. Rovers showed great fighting spirit when David Ghiurcan nabbed his first of the season to earn the lads a share of the spoils.

The 17As beat the 17Bs 3-1 in the youth shield, Gary O’Connor, David O’Connor and Harrison Okungbowa netted for the As with Nathan Wynne replying for the Bs in what was a sporting tussle between the two teams.

There were only two junior midweek games last week, the 12Bs went down 3-1 away to Sporting Greystones, Luca Sturles nabbed the Rovers goal for his fifth of the campaign.

Our under-16s won 7-0 away to Arklow Town, Ben Algera made it three games in a row that he has found the back of the net with an excellent hat-trick, Chris Mabuza fired home two, Thomas O’Neill notched one with the last coming in the shape of an own goal.

Saturday’s junior action saw the 12As make it five wins on the bounce when they beat Phoenix FC 4-0 away, Brian McCaul, Charlie Czwalina, Lee Brown and Harri Armstrong hit the back of the net in a magnificen­t team display.

The 12Bs defeated the 12Cs, the Bs were way too strong for their club mates. Eoin Kennedy smashed home four goals, Luca Sturles, Sean O’Toole, Evan Conyard and Ben Lyons all scored two a piece with Ciaran Matthews completing the scoring with a single.

The 13As recorded a good win on the road when they won 3-0 away to Kinsealy Utd, Darragh Heffernan, Louis and Oscar Malcolmson all hit the back of the net with the defence impressing with a clean sheet.

The 15As went down to a narrow 1-0 away defeat to Knocklyon Utd in a very tight encounter. The lads remain very much in contention in the title race despite this defeat.

Sunday’s action saw the under-13Bs record an excellent 3-0 first leg win in their A1 Jako Cup semi final at home to Greystones Utd.

Ruairi Jenkinson set them on their way with a neat header, Charlie Phelan made it 2-0 with Ryan McConnell adding a third in the second half to give them a three goal cushion going into the second leg.

The 14As defeated Ashford 2-0 at Whitegates. Harry Broxson and Conor Hunter found the net for Wicklow.

The 14Bs went down 4-1 away to Arklow Town in the A1 Jako Cup semi-final first leg, Tim Hastie netted for the 13th time this season to score their goal.

The 16s drew 2-2 away to Roundwood, Ben Algera scored for the fourth successive game while Paul Marah nabbed his tenth of the campaign.

The club’s annual summer camp dates having been released, Week 1 - Monday 2nd July 2018 to Friday 6th July 2018, Week 2 Monday 9th July 2018 to Friday 13th July 2018. The camp will take place in Whitegates and will run daily from 10am to 3pm. The camp is for children from 4 years old to 13 years old, the cost is €70 per child and €120 for 2 children from the same family. For early booking its €65.

Supporters bus to Dundalk The next away game is against Dundalk on Friday, May 25. The Seagulls club will run a bus to this game. Seats can be booked by text to 087 9968969. Bus will depart at 4.30pm from the Carlisle Grounds with a stop at the Three Arena (5.15pm approx.). Fares are Adults €15, Student (Age 15-17) €10, Schoolchil­d (under 15) €7.

Golden goal - The golden goal in our last home game against Waterford FC on Monday, May 14, was scored in the 3rd minute,. The winner was Keith Ryan who wins €60.

Underage teams - The SJ.B Academy under-19s were defeated 3-1 at the Carlisle Grounds by Cobh Ramblers last Sunday. Goalscorer was Shane Flynn. The under-19s are away to Wexford FC on Sunday, 27th May. Kick off in Ferrycarri­g Park is 2.00pm.
