NEWTOWN JUNIORS FC

All of our teams were in action last weekend and there were loads of goals scored both for and against. Our 8’s travelled to Wicklow to take on Rovers and after a fine series of games among the best players from Newtown on the day were Kayla Hamilton, David McCormack and Tyler Doyle.

The 9’s were away to Arklow Town and played out a close game. Among the players who starred for Newtown were Nathan McMahon, Alex Ryan, Albie Chance, Jack Barlow, JV Kelly and Leon O’Connor.

The under-10s (kindly sponsored by Real Debt Solutions) came out on top in a close game away to Sporting Greystones. All the goals came in the second half from William Valentine (2) and Luke Turley. Best on the day were Pat Carey and Mikey Synnott.

Plenty of goals in the under-11s game away to Enniskerry where Brooklyn Doyle, Dylan Dunleavy, Cormac Chance and Rose Kelly Tynan all scored braces while there was singles for Jake Robertson and Cathal O’Toole in an excellent team display.

The first leg of the Cup semi-final for our 12’s at home to Greystones B went the way of the away side on a 4-0 scoreline. Despite the scoreline the Newtown team left it all in the pitch and among the players who starred on the day were Hannah Martin and Aaron Cawley.

Last Thursday evening our 14’s got off the mark with an emphatic win away to Avonmore. Cousins Martin Kelly and Jason Carthy both scored hat tricks while Bobby Dowling, Charlie Sullivan and Shane Dunleavy also found the net.
