NEWTOWN JUNIORS FC Only our under-14s were in action last week and they made it two wins on the spin with victory at home to Roundwood. They had to do it the hard way by coming from behind after been 3-2 down at the break to run out 7-3 winners with an excellent second half display. Hat tricks from Shane Dunleavy and Jason Carthy and a single from Charlie Sullivan accounted for the scores in a good team display. While one swallow never made a summer it’s certainly a step in the right direction. Well done, everyone.

The Wicklow Community Choir, The Avoca Valley singers, Cheile community choir, Primark Workplace Choir and Icon Workplace choir will perform ‘A celebration of Song’ in St Patrick’s Church Wicklow Town on Saturday, June 16, starting at 8 p.m.
This promises to be a great nights entertainment and proceeds will be donated to the very worthy cause AWARE Tickets are €15 and can be purchased from any choir member (which I happen to be), Track One Music Store or on the door.

Moneystown Midsummer barn dance and barbecue will take place on June 30 in Moneystown Community Centre starting at 8 p.m. till late. Music on the night will be Paul Molloy and the Whole Hog. Fully licensed.
A DAY OF PAINTING
On Sunday, June 10 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) join the resident artist in the Wicklow Mountains National Park for a day’s painting outside looking at nature. Participants must bring all their own art equipment (a list will be provided). This is a free event but pre-booking is essential. Places are limited.
