LADIES DAY OUT

Tickets are now on sale for the Ladies Day in the Woodenbrid­ge Hotel on July 1.

There will be a glass of prosecco and afternoon tea, as well as fashion shows by McMullans and Fayebella, make-up demonstrat­ions by Beauty by Nicola and Catherina Aylward, hair demonstrat­ions by Bernie from the Cutting Room, stylist corner, pop up beauty salon from midday to 2 p.m. Main event from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.. There will be prizes for Best Dressed Lady, spot prizes and raffle.

This is a great day out, but you must pre-book, tickets cost €30 and are available from Veronica Carr, Linda Hannay, Niamh Armstrong, Fainche Murphy, Sara Horan Byrne and Denise Byrne. All proceed to Annacurra Community Playground Committee.

BOWLS CLUB

Annacurra Indoor Bowls Club send their Congratula­tions to our colleagues Jack and Ann Lynch on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversar­y. They were married in St Bridgid’s Church Annacurra on June 1, 1968. It is fantastic to see them both so youthful and active after 50 years. We wish them both many more years of good health and happiness.

The bowls club is presently on its summer recess. We will be resuming bowling again around the third week of September, when new members will be very welcome.

We have completed 20 seasons of bowling, as we first commenced bowling in Annacurra on November 13, 1998. The club’s 20th anniversar­y taken place in September. Field day.

The Annacurra Parish field day will take place on Sunday, June 17, at 2 p.m. in the GAA pitch. With all the usual attraction­s, stalls and events. Tickets are now on sale.

WEDDING ANNIVERSAR­Y

Congratula­tion to Ann and Jack Lynch, Tomcoyle, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversar­y recently.

GAA LOTTO

The Over the Hill Vintage Car and Tractor run takes place from Donard Village at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 10. All proceeds in aid of Davidstown Church Restoratio­n Fund. Raffle tickets available on the day. There are great prizes to be won.

RAISING THE ROOF

Come along and enjoy West Wicklow Voices and guests in concert on Friday, June 15, in Davidstown Church at 8 p.m. in aid of the church’s Restoratio­n Fund. Admission €10.

Tickets are still available in local shops or from any committee member.

FOOTBALL CLUB NOTES

A Donard team, comprising Division 4 and Division2 players, beat An Tocher in Donard last Friday night (1-14) to five points, having been up six points at half time. Liam Morrin scored four points, Alan Daly (3), Gavin Walshe (2), Dermot Daly (1-1) Joe Whyte) 2), Eoin Kelly (1) and Rory Toomey (1).

There was no winner of the jackpot so it now stands at €13,300. Mary Case and Eamon Keogh matched three and won €100 each.

CLOTHES COLLECTION

Sympathy is extended to the family of Teresa O’Doherty, who died last week. Teresa and her husband Tom were the former owners of Centra Dunlavin and have been living Naas for the past number of years. Teresa is mourned by her husband Tom, daughter Fiona, sons Enda and Karl and many relatives and friends. Teresa’s funeral took place in Naas. May she rest in peace.

BLOOMSDAY PARTY

A Bloomsday musical tea party will take place on June 16 at 6.30 p.m. in the Market House. Music will be provided by DARA quartet and tickets are available at €10. This event is being run as part of the 36th annual festival of arts.

SET DANCE CEILI

The annual Maureen Dennis set dance ceili will take place in the Imaal Hall on June 15 at 9.30 p.m. Admission €10. All proceeds will go to St Bridgid’s Hospice, Curragh. Craft Fair
