What a performance by Wicklow ladies on Sunday in Longford. Having lead at half-time, Wicklow 2-04 to Longford 0-03, the girls finished the job in style in the second half with the full time score Wicklow 3-13 Longford 0-04.
A special mention to the vice-captain and our own club player Niamh McGettigan who was named player of the match in what was an outstanding performance and well deserved.
We are all now looking forward to the Leinster Intermediate Championship final on Sunday, July 1, in Netwatch Cullen Park, Carlow, when Wicklow will play Laois (who defeated Wexford in the other semi-final) in what promises to be a great final.
This is a huge stepping stone for Wicklow and the girls are in need of all our voices so let’s get organising to support our county team especially our own Niamh McGettigan, Rose Fagan, Saoirse O’Reilly and Mick Kavanagh (management team) in the Leinster Intermediate Championship final.
Hard luck to our own Ronan Murray and the Wicklow County U20 footballers in the 2018 Eirgrid Leinster Under-20 football championship clash with Kildare in St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge.

Well done to the St. Pats under-12 boys football team who got to the final of the All-Ireland tournament in Naas today.
The team won three games in their group. A brilliant team effort, to beat Austin Stacks, St. Sylvester’s and Sallins. St. Pats played great football in the final but where narrowly defeated by a strong Castle Mitchell team from Kildare. Great achievement for the players. Thanks to the parents for supporting the team throughout the day. Really proud of the effort from all the players. Thanks Steven and Bryan
Well done to managers Liam Keogh, Sean O’Brien, Trina Keogh and of course the players on two fantastic results
