The combination drawn in the club lotto draw on Monday, June 11, was 1, 18, 20, and 24. The jackpot remains somewhat elusive, Breda Murphy Ballard Upper was the sole match three winner and procured €100. Well done, Breda.

Mick Rossitter won the promoters prize. The next draw with the jackpot an appetising €2,800 takes place on Monday, June 25. Tickets costing just €2 are available in all local business outlets and from our very capable promoters, players and committee members, thanks for your continued support.

The Junior ‘A’ football team, albeit weakened by injuries, suspensions and work commitments, went down to an impressive Baltinglass outfit in Division 3 of the football league on the Fairgreen on Tuesday last, June 12.

This following our defeat in the previous game versus neighbours Coolboymeans it’s understandable that the mood in the camp would be somewhat downbeat, but on a positive note the management team of Anthony Grey, Darren Kavanagh and Noel Murphy would have to be encouraged by the response of the players as the attendance and attitude at training on Thursday and Sunday last was impressive and hopefully this will be reflected in the next fixture versus Blessington, scheduled for Tuesday last, June 19, (report in next week’s notes), and on next Sunday morning, June 24, when the panel travel to take on Kilbride in the Division 3 Cup competition, throw in 11am.

Well done to Kate Butler and her Kilrush teammates who were crowned All-Ireland under-14 camogie champions at Féile last weekend, a fantastic achievement.

Kate, daughter of Ann and Pat Butler and of course granddaughter of Kathleen and Tommy Murphy, Millbank. Tommy would say the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Super stuff, Kate.

Well done to all our young athletes who once again were impressive when competing in the Wicklow Community Games finals on the Fairgreen on Saturday last.

Well done also and thank you to all the volunteers, young and younger who answered the rallying call from our eminent Chairman Mark Dempsey and turned out in force at the Fairgreen Clean Up last week, the result of their efforts were plain to see as our very own theatre of dreams looked fantastic on what is always a great occasion for the village. JUVENILE NEWS

The under-13 St. Marys panel turned in an impressive display when accounting for An Tochar (2) in a thriller on the Fairgreen on Monday June 11. The improvement shown by these boys in recent games is very encouraging, well done all concerned .

The under-11 team emerged victorious in the top of the table clash versus Aughrim on Wednesday last, June 13. Not helped by the inclement weather conditions, full marks to both teams, skill and commitment in abundance on show. The 11s’ next two fixtures are versus Baltinglass and Blessington. Do come along and support both our under-13 and 11s. You wont be disappointed.

The younger brigade, our under-9 and under-7 warriors are out in the Go Games series on Saturday next, June 23.
