BRAY BOWLS

-

A very successful week on the rinks this week for Bray. Monday last saw Division 4 at home to Aer Lingus and in a very solid display from all and in particular from Niall Shelley saw Bray take all points on offer.

Wednesday saw Division 6 take on North Kildare with Aidan King making his debut for Bray in a 4/0 win. Others to impress for Bray on the night were Pat Crinnion and Tommy Quinn.

On the same day our Ladies were due to take on near neighbours Shankill but unfortunately Shankill were unable to field a team.

Thursday had the three Vets teams in action and all recorded good wins. Vets 1 had a comprehensive 4/0 win at home to Lerne to maintain their position at the top of the table.

Vets 2 took all four points away in a top of the table clash away to Skerries in very windy conditions where the bowls on the rink were blowing around as much as the nearby Windmills.

Vets 3 completed the clean sweep with a good 3/1 win at home to CYM to move to second place in the table. Both Dave Matthews and Tommy Quinn contributed handsomely.

The ladies Saturday team had no luck away in Blackrock.

This week the Ladies Division 1 team have a free week. Thursday sees Vets 1 and 2 at home to Crumlin and Vets 3 away in Santry against Sportslink. Saturday has the ladies away in Greystones. Division 1 are in Dun Laoghaire whilst Division 2 host the same opposition. Monday, June 25 sees Division 4 commence the second half of the season away to Sportslink.

Finally, well done to Walter Doyle on getting to the last 16 of the BLI Senior Singles and to Walter and Tony Murphy on reaching the last 16 of the BLI Senior Pairs competition. The lucky lotto winner this week is Eoghain Brady.
