It was a cold, wet, blustery evening for the first of the mid-week swims on June 13 but the weather didn’t dampen spirits. Eight intermedia­tes were in the water swimming for the Clarke Delahunt Cup. Sophie Leonard took first place followed by Lily Sheehy in second and Amy Noble in third.

On June 17, 187 swimmers faced a wet and windy morning at Wicklow Harbour. Fifty swimmers competing in the following Junior Sprint races; under-six boys: First Dara Colohan. Under-six girls: first Maria O’Dwyer second Olivia Guinan third Aoife Quinn. Under-eight boys: first Eoin Treanor second Bill Guinan third Ryan Cassidy. Under-eight girls: Joint first Laura Bentley, Ruth Connolly third Grace Vigors. Under-10 boys: first Luke Gould second Ryan Quinn third Frank Aherne. Under-10 girls: first Anya McKenna second Erica Hulin third Isabel Gray. Under-12 boys: first Joss Hulin second Colm O’Neill third Chris Hulin. Under-12 girls: first Louise Flood second Juno Cherry Roberts third Cara McKenna. Under-14 girls: first Moya Kelly, second Eva Doyle, third Ellie Mai Brennan.

Nineteen juniors swam in the Junior Challenge; first Eva Doyle, second Cara McKenna. Third Moya Kelly. 22 Intermedia­tes swam for the Humby Family Cup; first Charlie Brennan, second Lianna Bell, third Mike Connolly. 16 youths competed for the Committee Cup. First Charlie Pearse, second Emma Kristianse­n, third Mia Kristianse­n. 80 seniors swam for the Humby Family Cup; Brendan Conway took first place with Jane Frazer coming home in second followed by Declan Marnane in third.
