DERRY WICKLOW 3-21 2-11

chances but didn’t convert enough to keep in touch with Derry.

In that first half, Wicklow had some great performers in Conor Connolly, Des Byrne, David Maloney, Rory Lambe and dual player John Doyle.

In the second half, all the Wicklow players stepped up their game and hurled much better, getting some excellent scores.

Despite the fact that they matched Derry score wise, the gap was too big and a third Derry goal with about 10 minutes to go sealed a comfortable Derry win. Final score was 3-21 to 2-11.

Not one Wicklow player dropped their head and they can be very proud of the efforts they put in, both in this game and in the earlier rounds. Hopefully, Wicklow can build on the showing and commitment of this group and with nearly half of them available again next year more progress can be made.

The following are the players:

Conor Connolly Tim Byrne James McGing, Des Byrne, Dara Owens, Eoin Kavanagh, Neil Browne, Shane Browne, David Maloney(captain), Jake O’Kelly, Sean McDonagh, Zach Cullen, John Doyle, Torna Mulcroney, Paddy Moorehouse, Rory Lambe, Brandon Ryan, Darren Reilly, PJ O’Connor, Liam Somers, Ml Timmons, Adam Bushe, Kevin Bushe, Kevin Kinsella, Conor Hardiman, Oisin O’Neill, Jack Murray, Brian Kehoe, Cian O’Neill, and dual star Eoin Byrne who unfortunately was injured for the Derry game.
