first week in February. The girls have recently completed all seven league fixtures, going unbeaten throughout, whilst playing all matches in a respectful and sporting manner.

Similarly, the girls qualified unbeaten in the Wicklow Féile Division 2 competition and will represent Wicklow in the Féile Peil na nÓg in Co. Louth.

In the course of preparing for Féile and in anticipation of a tough championship ahead, the girls have recently played four challenge matches versus league winners in their respective countys, Blessington, Edenderry, Muckalee and Ballyroan. Whilst the girls were narrowly beaten in these matches, they were invaluable in the progression and development of individuals and the team as a whole.

The girls also participated in and won the annual Crossbridge Field Day tournament.

The team also enthusiastically completed the LGFA Gaelic4Teens programme, which culminated in a great day in Abbotstown, with football and lifestyle workshops facilitated by LGFA All Star players, with blitz matches, where again the girls held their own versus under-16 teams from around the country.

Many of the girls on the panel are also heavily involved in other sports and activities, and the commitment they have shown to their football is to be commended.

They train and play with high energy and commitment, with respect for coaches, team mates and opposition.

The club and families can be very proud of everything these girls have worked hard to achieve to date, in the confidence that they have prepared well, and will represent the club with pride and to the best of their ability at Féile 2018. Good luck girls and to their coaches Brian, Sheena, Bridget and Grace.

We also wish best of luck to the Wicklow ladies team and our Baltinglass and Wicklow players Marie Kealy, Sarah Fennelly and Sarah Jane Winders on Sunday next, July 1, in the Leinster Championship Intermediate final in Netwatch Cullen Park where they will take on Laois at 2pm. Let’s get out and support the Wicklow team as this is a very local fixture for us here in the West.

Baltinglass GAA will hold a Recycling Clothes Collection at the club house from July 2 to 6 (Cúl Camp Week).

We are asking you to please donate clean unwanted clothes, bed linen, towels, curtains and textiles including shoes, bags and belts (no pillows, no duvets).

Please drop your bags off at club house morning or evening during the week of the Cúl Camp.

Your donations will all add up to benefit your GAA Club and the bags when sorted will go to the shops around Ireland belonging to The National Council for The Blind.

Please get that wardrobe cleaned out – we will all bebenefit, and your work is much appreciated. If you wish to find out further information, please contact Mary at 086 0842143.

The under-10 girls played great football at the girls’ blitz in St. Pats at the weekend while the under-9 boys had a great morning at the monster blitz in Ballinakill.

Great football played by the boys and all their hard work in training paying off.

Baltinglass Junior A team had a win in Division 3 on a score line of 3-20 to Enniskerry’s 2-9.

Well done to club member Donal Linehan who completed his first Ultra Marathon last week. Donal, who has been doing a lot of the physical training with the adult football team, deserves great credit for completing this grueling event. Donal’s son Sean ran the last 10k with his dad.

Our school team from fifth and sixth classes won out the first south inter school competition for the Christy Gregan Cup recently. They were unbeaten in this competition and beat Carnew, Annacurra and Coolafancy on their way to the title.

The under-9s played in the Monster Football Go Games in Ballinakill on Saturday afternoon and it was great to play three teams we never played before. Well done to all the boys and girls.

The under-7 and 9s have a hurling Go Games blitz in Aughrim this Friday night. Please be there for 6.45pm.

The Academy continues every Saturday morning from 9.30 to 10.30am.

Don’t forget to register online for the Cúl Camps that take place in August at the complex.
