BRAY BOWLS
id-summer has come and gone, and the Bray Bowlers are still going strong on all fronts. Our Division 4 team were in action in Greystones last Monday and unfortunately our neighbours proved too strong on the night.
Seanie Shortt’s rink had hard luck just losing to the very last bowl of the night.
Tuesday saw Division 1 take five points home from Blackrock and Division 2 take 5.5 points at home to Ierne.
In the Division 2 game Robert Mac Clancy made a welcome return to the team and led the way with some outstanding bowling. Wednesday had Division 6 making the long trek to Westmanstown and they brought home 1 point from a difficult venue to maintain their top three position.
Thursday as usual had all three Vets teams in action and all 3 recorded wins to maintain their positions at the top of their respective leagues.
Both Vets 1 and 2 were at home to Crumlin and both had comprehensive wins.
Stephen Morris ‘s rink with Mick Dunne playing in an unaccustomed role at number 2 were involved in a humdinger and eventually secured victory on the last end.
Vets 3 had a great 3/1 win away to Sportslink where Eddie Condren and Pat Brosnan produced some top-class shots. Keep it going all you Vets.
On Saturday last the ladies had a good win at home to Greystones. Both Division 1 and 2 played Dun Laoghaire with Division 1 travelling and Division 2 having home advantage.
The Division 1 boys picked up two points and the Division 2 team got 4. All in all, it was a very satisfactory week’s return for all concerned.
This Wednesday both the Ladies Division 1 and Men’s Division 6 travel to leafy Rathmines to take on Kenilworth.
Thursday has Vets 1 away also to Kenilworth. Vets 2 away to Herbert Park and Vets 3 at home to our near neighbours Shankill.
On Saturday, June 30, both Division 1 and 2 commence the second half of the league with Division 1 away to CYM and Division 2 at home to the same opposition.
On the same day our Ladies Saturday team are away to Kenilworth.
On Monday, July 2, Division 4 are at home to Lerne. Finally, well done to Eoghain Brady and Pat Crinnion for organising the World Cup Competitions and to Brendan Duffy the lucky lotto winner this week.
