The Wicklow Parish has been hosting yearly anniversary masses for more than 15 years and it is one of the highlights of the parish calendar. Invitations were sent out to couples who were married in St Patrick’s Church in Wicklow and St Joseph’s Church in Rathnew.

Parish priest Fr Donal Roche celebrated the Mass which was attended not only by the couples but also their families and friends. The wedding anniversaries being celebrated were: 25th, 40th, 50th, 55th, 60th and 65th.

One couple, Pat and Chrissie Roche, were celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary while Richard and Bridget Courtney were marking their 60th anniversary.

A spread was laid on for all the couples and their guests afterwards back at the De La Salle Pastoral Centre which was provided by the hospitality committee of the parish.

Fr Roche also presented each couple with their commemorative certificates and a commemorative candle and they will also receive a photograph to mark the occasion.
