Six hundred athletes to take on the Harbourman Triathlon

SOME 600 athletes are expected to take part in the Harbourman Triathlon taking place in Wicklow town this Sunday, July 8.

Organised by Wicklow Triathlon Club and sponsored by Base2Race, the event starts at 1 p.m. and will consist of a National Series Olympic Distance race, comprising of a 1500m swim, 40km cycle followed by a 10km run.

This year Harbourman plays host to the Standard Distance National Championship and so promises to draw in the best athletes from all over the country.

In effect it’s the equivalent of an ‘All Ireland Final’ for this particular distance.
