Hard Luck to our county ladies who in Netwatch Cullen Park, Carlow, on Sunday, for the Leinster Intermediate Championship final against Laois, were on the wrong side of a fulltime score line of: Laois 2-13, Wicklow 0-13, in a fantastic final.

What a wonderful effort by all our girls. Well done to the massive crowd who travelled to Carlow to support the girls.

This team of girls owe us nothing after all their efforts this year, such a wonderfully dedicated squad and management especially our own Niamh McGettigan, Rose Fagan, Saoirse O’Reilly and Mick Kavanagh (Management Team). They will learn from Sunday. The road trip moves on to Tyrone in the All Ireland series in two weeks’ time.

Congrats to our own Hazel Porter who played half-time between Wicklow and Laois

Hard Luck to our Senior lads who visited our near neighbours on Thursday evening in Merrymeeting to take on Rathnew in the final game of the Dunne Cup round robin series.

Both teams fielded experimental line outs in an entertaining evening of good football. A penalty conversion from Leighton Glyn just before half-time was a major turning point in the game to see Rathnew go in at half-time Rathnew 1-06, St Patricks 0-04, A second half with good long range scores from both teams saw the game finish with the full-time score of Rathnew 1-12, St Patricks 0-09.

St. Patricks will now take on Blessington in the Dunne Cup final in Aughrim on Wednesday, July 4.

Team: Colm Byrne, Aidan Dunne, Padraig Higgins, Wayne Doyle, Simon Bouchier, Shane Murley, John Crowe, Shane Doyle, Johnny Delahunt, Chris Kavanagh, Padge McWalter, Ciaran McGettigan, Jordan Petticrew, Paul O’Brien, Jack Dunne. Subs: Hugh Humby, Stephen Duffy and Rossa Marron

Our under-13 footballers had a busy weekend. A special thanks to Gary Duffy who took the under-13 football team for training on Friday evening in Dunbur.

The players really enjoyed the session. On Sunday the St. Pats under-13 Blue football team showed team spirit, hard work and determination against a Baltinglass side who had some exceptionally strong and physical players.

The coaches were pleased to see the players finish the game well with great character shown. This is the first defeat in seven matches and the coaches and players will learn from it.

Our under-8 and under-10 camogie girls made the trip over to Kiltegan on Saturday morning and acquitted themselves very well in a blitz where we took on the hosts, Arklow Rocks, and Annacurra. Well done girls!

Congratulations to our ladies Intermediate team who welcomed St. Nicholas to Dunbur on Thursday evening. On a beautiful evening in Dunbur the ladies played fantastic football with the Murphy sisters getting on the score sheet. The final score: St. Patricks 5-17, St. Nicholas 1-04.

Scorers: Niamh O’Brien 2-07, Aimi Healy 1-04, Sadbh Murphy 1-03, Naoise O’Reilly 1-0, Laoise Marron, Siobhan Gorman and Fia Murphy 0-01 each.

Congratulations to Stephen McNulty and his crew who took charge of Dublin v Westmeath in the TG4 Senior LGFA Leinster Final in Carlow on Sunday.
