The hottest week of the year so far weather-wise and Bray Bowlers certainly kept things simmering with some good results in the week just gone.

Monday last saw Division 4 travel to Sportslink beside Dublin Airport and in a titanic struggle they shared the spoils 3-3 with the locals. John Reynolds and Gabriel Cahill performed exceptiona­lly well on the night.

Wednesday saw both the Ladies Division 1 and men’s Division 6 travel to Kenilworth with contrastin­g fortunes.

The ladies suffered a 2-5 defeat whilst the men drew 2-2 to maintain their upward journey. Thursday saw all three Vets teams in action with both Vets 1 and 3 recording 4-0 victories over Kenilworth and Shankill respective­ly to still maintain top spot in their respective leagues.

Vets 2 suffered a setback losing 0-4 away to Herbert Park. They now share top spot and have no margin for error as the season approaches the business end. Saturday saw both Men’s Divisions 1 and 2 play CYM with Division 1 experienci­ng a tough day out in Terenure and Division 2 taking one point at home where they lost the overall by one shot.

The ladies Saturday team were away in Kenilworth and had no luck.

This Wednesday sees Division 6 travel to play the league leaders Greenhills and the ladies play at home to CYM.

Thursday has Vets 1 at home to Leinster, Vets 2 at home to Dun Laoghaire and Vets 3 away to Aer Lingus. Saturday, July 7, has Division 1 away to Railway Union and Division 2 make the long journey to Trim in the Royal County of Meath. The ladies are at home to Leinster.

On Sunday, July 8, our Senior ladies team are in cup action at home to Crumlin. On Monday, July 9, the Division 4 team travel
